If you have pets that share your home and family, than you may be familiar with the Rainbow Bridge. It is not an easy journey, it is not a happy journey. But it is part of your life when you have fuzzy and furry family members in your home.
Yesterday we had to take that painful journey to the Rainbow Bridge with our beloved cat, Brittany. She was the biggest, sweetest, most lovable kitty out there. And now she is gone.
She may be gone, but she will never be forgotten. She was such a special part of our lives, and we were blessed to have her share our home.
This was her as a baby. She loved Spring and Summer as much as I did.
She owned the bed, too, when she was a baby.
Seriously, how are you supposed to say no to that face?
But she was more than just a pretty face. She spent hours with her sister getting into any possible kind of mischief.(We lost Kim in 2008). But then again, they were always close.
Brittany was always such a cuddler, especially when someone in the family was sick. I can’t tell you how many times I was down and out on the couch, and she was there on my feet. And legs. And stomach. It was the same for the kids. And she had this amazing knack for knowing when I had the worst day at work, and was ready to make it better with rubs and purrs.
See, she enjoyed “helping” me get some things organized. We had issues, though, when it was time to take back the box. She forgave me, as always.
And she would always help me with the laundry, too!
And she could just make you smile, just by doing absolutely nothing.
Brittany, you were such an important part of our life an family, and we miss you dearly. We are comforted now knowing you are with your sister at the Rainbow Bridge. You are without pain, and you are happy. Please know that your family loves and misses you, and will see you again someday.
