Hearing the word chocolate makes my heart swoon. Chocolate is one of those things that goes great with everything, and is my #1 comfort food! So when I was approached by the Chuao Chocolatier© to try and review their products, I was more than excited to do this review.
Deliciously creative flavor combinations are at the heart of Chuao Chocolatier’s unique experience. These include indulgences such as Salted Chocolate Crunch: crunchy, toasted breadcrumbs dusted with sea salt and swirled in dark chocolate and Firecracker: sultry sea salt, smoky chipotle, and popping candy exploding in dark chocolate.
In this description of the Chuao Chocolatier© products, it talks about creative flavor combinations. Trust me, that phrase does not do this product justice. I am probably the biggest chocolate snob out there, and am particularly picky about dark chocolate. Well, this chocolate company fulfills both of my “must haves” when it comes to chocolate.
One of the most important things I noticed when I received my review samples was how well they were packaged. I have never had a food product that was shipped with an ice pack, so the chocolate was not melted when it was received. It was also padded well, so there was no broken packaging or product. That is really a large plus in my book.
I employed my family to help me with this review of the Chuao Chocolatier© chocolate bars(calling it a candy bar would be a total disservice to the creator and the product). They were all to eager to help with the taste testing process.
The first samples we tried were the Sweet & Salty and Potato Chip flavors. While we did like the idea of the combination of ingredients, we found that there was too much of the salt flavor and it had a strong after taste. We did agree, however, that we all liked the crunch of the potato chips in that sample.
The next ones we tried were the pop corn pop and the pretzel toffee twirl. Without a doubt, these two were our hands down favorites. We loved the texture with these bars, and felt the combinations were really well thought out. These samples had us fighting over the last little bits. The pop corn pop received 3 out of 4 votes for the best of the best taste in this sample review. These flavors are definitely ones I would get in the future.
ABOUT CHEF MICHAEL ANTONORSI
Chef Michael Antonorsi’s love affair with chocolate began long before he created Chuao Chocolatier. His ancestors owned Aguasanta, a small Venezuelan farm known for its fine cacao, and so a love of chocolate was naturally in his blood.
Michael’s respect for chocolate grew into an appreciation for food. His favorite childhood memories take place in the kitchen, standing by his German mother’s side as she cooked and baked and cooked some more. Between his Venezuelan upbringing and his exposure to European cuisine, flavor and texture became Michael’s best friends.
You can try these and other flavors through the Chuao Chocolatier either through their website or store locations. They will make a great treat for yourself, or a great gift to give others. Be sure to check them out.
