The Simple Woman’s daybook is one of my favorite blog memes to do. I always get lots of comments, visits, and encouragement when I write it. My daybook always combines little parts of my everyday life. Sometimes I feel like my life takes on such a hectic pace. Blogging about my week helps me to see what my week is like, and maybe figure out how to slow things down a bit. So I hope that you enjoy this post. And join in with the Simple Woman’s daybook as well.
Outside my window… It is bright and sunny and very cold! There are about 2 inches of snow on the ground right now.
I am thinking… That I am ready for baseball season to start. Or at least I can’t wait for time change. Somehow the cold weather is more bearable when it is light longer.
I am thankful… I am thankful that we did not get as much snow as the weathermen predicted. Wish I could say that for the rest of the Northeast.
In the kitchen… Not a lot this week. We are running a lot this week, so there isn’t much time for cooking.
I am wearing… Dressed for church in a warm sweater, jeans, and cozy boots.
I am creating… A mess. Well, sort of. Going to clean out the master closet this week.
I am going… To tackle my to-do list, and not just talk about it. I also want to work on more blog posts. I also want to see if hubby will take me to Target to get 2 new wire shelves. Our 2 that we use in the cellar to hold extra food are on their last leg!
I am wondering... If Spring will make an early appearance this year. I really hope so!
I am reading…Lying Game Series #5 by Sara Shepard
I am hoping… That the snow will go away very quickly and it will start to warm up. Can you tell that I am really ready for Spring?
I am looking forward to… Just being with my family. And making our home a haven. I am starting to look forward to our vacation in June to Wildwood, and a second road trip to Ohio/Wisconsin in July.
I am learning…That life is short, you have to make the most of it before it’s too late.
Around the house… Just trying to keep things presentable. Making sure I am making the beds daily, and that the sink is empty. It really makes a big difference. And doing at least one load of laundry a day. I am also trying to keep up with ironing. At last these things *must* be done before any blogging or networking starts.
I am pondering… An easier way to plan Jeremy’s birthday party next month. Instead of stressing, I want to enjoy it.
A favorite quote for today… “Can we play????” Wait, didn’t I say that in my last post?
One of my favorite things… Sitting outside in the Spring, with warm sunshine, light breezes, and sunshine! Wait, didn’t I already say sunshine?
A few plans for the rest of the week:
- Monday~Work, than housework
- Tuesday~Work, blogging all day.
- Wednesday~Working, picking Johnny up from Science Olympiad, and Ash Wednesday services at church.
- Thursday~Working, housework, than haircuts.

I’m smiling because I am just as anxious as you for Spring to come. Guess what I have on my desk right now? Easter flowers (crocuses)!!! One of my church ladies found some in her yard and brought me a little bouquet of them. So cheery and uplifting to gaze upon!
You’re right. Let’s make the most of our lives because our time here is too short.

Hi, it’s so nice to meet you through The Simple Woman’s Daybook, I’m new to this. Your waffle looks delicious! Hope it warms up soon, we didn’t get that big snow that hit the northeast and feel badly for those who had to dig out from that. Hope to see you again soon.
Hugs ~ Mary
