Misfit Monday Blog Hop~Introduction

Misfit Monday Blog Hop
Today is the first day the Misfit Bloggers are hosting a weekly blog hop.  To start out, we are introducing ourselves to everyone in cyberworld.  The ladies of the Misfit Bloggers first got together when the SITS girls hosted their 31 Days To Being A Better Blogger.  As part of an assignment, we created our support group. The group has grown into such a source of support, not only for blogging and all things online, but also has expanded to include the every day.  So, as part of the blog hop, I am here to introduce you to me and my part as a Misfit Blogger.  Rachel at The Air Force Wife set up her blog post as a few key thoughts:

Who I Am………..

What I Do………..

Why I Blog……..

What The Misfits Mean to me……..

Here are my thoughts on these important questions.  I hope that they will help to inspire you to write a post, and join in this terrific group!

  • Who I Am…………..I really am just a simple woman who loves the simple things in life.  My family and home have always been at the top of the list of my important things.  My husband has always been my number one support.  He doesn’t always understand why I blog, but he supports me anyway.  He agreed to let me pay to self-host, and never grumbled when I paid for my theme framework.  My kids are my pride and joy, and our home is my biggest source of comfort and joy.
  • What I Do……….Right now, am a barista at a local cafe.  It is the perfect job for me.  I am able to be PT, and be home for most of the important things going on in my family’s life.  I am a college graduate, but my previous career path turned out to be a big source of stress in my life.  So I made the decision to step away permanently.  It has been almost 5 years, and I don’t miss that aspect of my life in one little bit.  Well, maybe the financial benefits, but those came with a price too.
  • Why I Blog……….I started blogging a few years ago just to share thoughts and ideas with everyone.  I am an Admin of a ladies message board, and it was a great way to talk about my everyday life.  But blogging became a way to try to inspire and encourage others.  There are days that I am totally frustrated with blogging because I don’t have enough time to write the posts I want to.  I get discouraged because I spend all this time writing posts, but I get no interaction for those reading the blog.  And I am scared to put myself out there.  I don’t want to get hurt, and I don’t want someone to think less of me because I am writing my thoughts.
  • What The Misfits Mean To Me………… Unconditional support.  Being there for someone not because you have to, because you want to. You are never afraid to ask questions because you won’t be made to feel stupid.  Laughter.  Sisterhood. Friendship.  Fun.

Hey, Jen, we have something in common… my hubby is totally supportive and yet doesn’t quite understand my need to blog/write/share so much online!!

I can also understand giving up one job/career path for another, although mine wasn’t quite as drastic. Its better to do the things that make us happy… for the good of the whole family.

Hi! I love your post and the whole idea of the Misfits. :o)

I just found the group today on FB. I would love to join in on the Blog Hop but do I need to wait until next week since I just joined?

Man, I want to enter this blog hop so bad. I have to leave for work soon, but hopefully will be able to post something good tomorrow. I’ve never done a blog hop but I this one is the *perfect* fit for me, a mom, wife, nurse, blogger, and recovering anxious person. Very eager to get to know other bloggers as well! ;-)

Sorry for 2 comments in a row, I have a question. How do I join the Misfits Bloggers Group? When I click on the link it takes me to the SITS Beginner Blogging Buddies page and says this is a closed group. Not sure how to join, can you help?

Thanks for sharing and putting yourself out there. Sometimes you feel like you are just white noise, but sometimes you make great connections–you never know which it will be until you try! So keep it up!

Great idea! My blog about daily life never fits into many categories except Mom Blog. This is awesome and I think I will be joining you.
It is nice to get to know other bloggers and see why they blog and how they started. We all have different personalities and it is cool to mingle.
