It is a beautiful day in my area of PA. It makes me wish we were at Universal Studios Orlando right now. I keep thinking about how warm and sunny it is right there. I am also remembering around this time last year I was deep in the planning process for our trip. As we were just getting hit with a snowstorm that dumped 37.5 inches of snow in one shot, planning for a Florida road trip was perfect.
Are you thinking about heading to Florida to visit Universal Studios Orlando? Well, I am sharing the only 2 books you need to plan your Universal Studios Orlando trip.
We have never been to Universal Studios Orlando, so I was completely overwhelmed at the thought of planning our trip. We spent two days here, and two days exploring the Disney World Parks. Speaking of Walt Disney World, I shared in an earlier post about the best books need to plan your Disney vacation. Trust me, guide books are definitely worth your time and effort!
So back to the only 2 books you will need to plan your Universal Studios Orlando trip. Up first: (affl. link) The Unofficial Guide To Universal Studios 2017.
As I said when I shared about my favorite guide books from Walt Disney World, I absolutely loved this format. Easy to read and understand, it is perfect for the inexperienced resort guest.
It comes with easy to follow rating guides for each attraction in the park, along with the restaurants.
Clear and easy to read maps:
Guidelines for height requirements. Reading this ahead of time can stop temper tantrums right in their tracks!
I also like how they include tips from real people. See the italicized blue above? That is what I am talking about. These are independent tips, and sometimes they do share the opposite viewpoint from the authors. I like that. You don’t just get all the happy things, you get uncensored reality.
The second book that you should have to plan your Universal Studios Orlando trip is (affl. link) Universal Studios Orlando 2015: The Ultimate Guide To The Ultimate Theme Park Adventure.
Again, I loved how this was layed out. The inside full-colored photos really helped you to imagine yourself in the park.
The format in this guidebook also had a very detailed rating system for each of the attractions. For instance, for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, you have this:
On a side note, that ride was FANTASTIC! I really can’t wait to go back someday in the future.
And we loved the nice way they laid out the restaurants guides, as well. Here I am sharing a picture of our favorite restaurant from the Jurassic Park area of the park:
So there you have it, the only two guides you need to plan your Universal Studios Orlando trip. While it is important to be prepared, the biggest thing to remember is to have fun!
