Simple Woman’s Daybook~January 22nd

FOR TODAY January 22, 2012

Outside my window… The sun is up, and it is kind of pretty with the snow.

I am thinking… That I am very blessed to be off from work today. I am happy that DH and DS are having fun at baseball camp.  And I am very lucky that we are going food shopping tonight so I can stock up on meats.

I am thankful… For my husband, and how hard he works to support my family. I am truly a blessed woman because he is my best friend as well as my spouse

In the kitchen… Working on healthier meals. And watching portion sizes as well

I am wearing… Jeans, turtleneck, and sweatshirt.  It is cold out!

I am creating… To borrow a phrase from a friend, I am creating a soft place to land for my hubby and kids

I am going… Plan meals and make a grocery shopping list, and do some decluttering

I am wondering… what to do about my blog. Now that I am on self-hosted WP, what next?

I am reading… The Love Season by Elin Hilderbrand

I am hoping… That hubby has a better week at work. He has been so stressed lately, and it always upsets me to see that

I am looking forward to… President’s weekend.  The kids are off, I am off, hubby is taking off.  We are going to go away for a day trip as a family

I am learning…That life is precious, to enjoy it, and live it fully

Around the house… Decluttering is the name of the game, along with simplifying, and maintaining

I am pondering… Lots of things, all they are as discombobulated

A favorite quote for today… “But Mom………………………………”

One of my favorite things… Days off with hubby, cuddling on the couch and just relaxing together

A few plans for the rest of the week:

  • Monday~Off, major blog work day
  • Tuesday~Working in the evening
  • Wednesday~Off, hubby has a baseball meeting in the evening
  • Thursday~Working in the morning, then haircuts in the evening
  • Friday~working in the afternoon
  • Saturday ~working in the afternoon/evening

A peek into my day…

I can’t wait for baseball season to start!

“I am learning…That life is precious, to enjoy it, and live it fully” I’m right there with you, Jen. I spent too many years complaining and hoping for something else and all the while I was missing the blessings that were right there in front of me everyday. Thankfully I started to grasp this while my children were young and now that they’re grown and I have few regrets and lots of precious memories. Same with my hubby. And, now that I’m a Nana “life is precious” has taken on a whole new meaning! ;-)
