Simple Woman’s Daybook~Nov 5th

FOR TODAY November 5, 2012

Outside my window… Gray, windy, and overcast

I am thinking… That I take too much for granted sometimes, and this recent storm made me realize that.

I am thankful… For many things today, but mostly that I have a wonderful husband, two great kids, and a whole bunch of great friends. I am also thankful that a roof over my head, heat, and a mostly filled fridge.

In the kitchen… I am completely unmotivated in the kitchen right now.  I really need to dust off my crock-pot and use it!

I am wearing… I am still in my pj’s.

I am creating… A post-storm oasis.

I am going… To tackle my to-do list, and not just talk about it.

I am wondering... If power has been restored to everyone in the Lehigh Valley yet. The past 2 nights have been bitterly cold, and my heart aches for those that still may not have power or heat.

I am reading…The Tender Yearsby Janette Oak.

I am hoping… That the changes I am planning will make a difference in how I see a situation.

I am looking forward to… Just being with my family.  And making our home a haven.

I am learning…That life is short, you have to make the most of it before it’s too late.

Around the house… Just trying to keep things presentable. Making sure I am making the beds daily, and that the sink is empty. It really makes a big difference. And doing at least one load of laundry a day.

I am pondering… Lots of things, all they are as discombobulated. Mostly trying to figure out how to make a change.

A favorite quote for today… “Do You Know Tomorrow Is Election Day?”

One of my favorite things… Days off with hubby, cuddling on the couch and just relaxing together

A few plans for the rest of the week:

  • Monday~Off, housework
  • Tuesday~Voting, Housework, than work
  • Wednesday~Working, picking Johnny up from Science Olympiad, picking up and delivering pies, and getting Johnny to confirmation classes.
  • Thursday~Working, housework,
  • Friday~Working, then grocery shopping.
  • Saturday ~Working, then baking for our youth group bake sale.
  • Sunday~Church, youth group bake sale, then relaxing at MIL’s.

A peek into my day…

Yes, creature comforts are such a blessing and something to be thankful for. My heart goes out to those with no power right now!

My goal is to make my home a haven as well. We all need a safe place to come and recharge our batteries, so to speak.

You said….”That life is short, you have to make the most of it before it’s too late.”

Yes, I have truly learned this lesson. Not only is it short, but we are not in control of every single thing in our life.

You said…”I am wearing… I am still in my pj’s.”

PJs are my favorite outfit and exactly what I wear every chance I get!

I love your list. Very fun! I’m glad you are safe from the storm.

Glad you have your power back. Last October we were hard hit with snow and freezing and without power for 3 1/2 days. I know so many people who were without for so much longer. This year it was the coasts turn to get slammed where we are and slammed they did. Things like this really make you think that’s for sure. I know I was super grateful this year that we didn’t have a repeat of last year, but felt really bad for those who suffered so much loss. These storms are unbelievable.
