Simple Woman’s Daybook~April 1st

daybook last sun feb Have you ever thought about being a simple woman or writing a daybook? The Simple Woman’s daybook is one of my favorite blog memes to do. I always get lots of comments, visits, and encouragement when I write it. My daybook always combines little parts of my everyday life. Sometimes I feel like my life takes on such a hectic pace. Blogging about my week helps me to see what my week is like, and maybe figure out how to slow things down a bit. So I hope that you enjoy this post. And join in with the Simple Woman’s daybook as well.

Do you have a simple life? Do you want others to share in it?

FOR TODAY April 1, 2013

Outside my window…The sun is out, but it is still cold.  It was rainy and miserable yesterday, so I am grateful that the sun is out today.

I am thinking…I am really glad that we decided to go ahead with the plans to rebuild the deck.  As much as I didn’t want to have the huge expense, I am grateful that we will have a place to hang out during the warmer weather.

I am thankful… I am thankful that I have such a wonderful husband. Perhaps I might have mentioned it before, but he still amazes me with what he does for me and our family.  Every time I think he can’t do more for us, he turns around and astounds me more!

In the kitchen… Stuck in a rut is the only way to put it.

I am wearing… Yoga pants and a top. I am off today, and I don’t have to go anywhere, so I am going for the clean & casual look.

I am creating… A mess??  I really need to get this house back under control.

I am going… Get myself caught up on ironing!

I am wondering... If I can get a few of my readers to volunteer their time doing a guest post.  I don’t have much to offer than a grateful “thank you”, so I am not sure if it is possible.

I am reading…Nothing right now.

I am hoping… That Leia’s paw will heal quickly.  Our poor pup(not really a pup, as she is almost 11 years old)hurt her paw on Saturday when we were outside playing.  She got her nail caught in the grass, and it broke in half.  They had to cut it the rest of the way off.  Thankfully they gave her pain meds and antibiotics.

I am looking forward to… Just being with my family. And making our home a haven. I am starting to look forward to our vacation in June to Wildwood, and a second road trip to Ohio/Wisconsin in July.

I am learning…That life is short, you have to make the most of it before it’s too late. And that faith in God is the only way to live your life.

Around the house… Just trying to keep things presentable. Making sure I am making the beds daily, and that the sink is empty. It really makes a big difference. And doing at least one load of laundry a day. I am also trying to keep up with ironing. At last these things *must* be done before any blogging or networking starts. And stop talking about the above statement, and just do it!

I am pondering… How to declutter some stuff without my family noticing things are gone.

A favorite quote for today… “What do you mean we have to do push-ups? This is baseball practice!”

One of my favorite things… Sitting outside in the Spring, with warm sunshine, light breezes, and sunshine! Wait, didn’t I already say sunshine? Yes, I know. I am a broken record when it comes to the nicer weather.

A few plans for the rest of the week:

  • Monday~Housework, ironing, and blogging.
  • Tuesday~Work, taking the dog for a re-check, and more laundry.
  • Wednesday~Working, picking Johnny up from Science Olympiad, than running Johnny to confirmation.
  • Thursday~Working, housework, and more laundry. Then “me time” with The Big Bang Theory and Grey’s Anatomy.
  • Friday~Working, than relaxing. Hubby and oldest have baseball practice.
  • Saturday ~Sleeping in a bit, taking oldest to Science Olympiad, and grocery shopping.  Hubby is going fishing.
  • Sunday~Fishing for hubby, than Church for all of us, then heading to Philadelphia for a Phillies game!!!

FOR TODAY February 3, 2013

Outside my window… It is starting to snow. So much for the groundhog’s prediction!

I am thinking… That I am ready for baseball season to start. Believe it or not, we start practice at the end of this month, and I am looking forward to it.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate. And I am also thinking that I really don’t want to go shopping for a new car, but we really can’t wait much longer.

I am thankful… I am thankful that my new job allows me to be home on the weekends with my family!  I am also thankful that Nana is getting stronger everyday!  Also thankful for 2 boys that are doing extremely well in school!

In the kitchen… This will be my third week in a row of planning and making meals. Come back tomorrow to see my Menu Plan Monday post.

I am wearing… Still in my pj’s. My youngest is sick, so I am staying home with him while DH and DS#1 go to church.

I am creating… An organized house, at least I hope to. I managed to clean out 3 cabinets in the kitchen that were absolute disasters, and boy did I feel like I accomplished something.

I am going… To tackle my to-do list, and not just talk about it. I also want to work on more blog posts, including reading and writing more Simple Woman’s daybooks.

I am wondering... If Spring will make an early appearance this year. Considering there is an inch of snow on the ground, I am not too sure.  The groundhog says so, but I don’t think I believe him.

I am reading… Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. And yes, it’s because I want to see the movie next weekend.

I am hoping… That things will slow down before baseball season starts back up.

I am looking forward to… Just being with my family. And making our home a haven.  I am starting to look forward to vacation in June, and hopefully a road trip in July.

I am learning…That life is short, you have to make the most of it before it’s too late.

Around the house… Just trying to keep things presentable. Making sure I am making the beds daily, and that the sink is empty. It really makes a big difference. And doing at least one load of laundry a day. I am also trying to keep up with ironing.

I am pondering… About several things.  In a previous daybook post, I talked about making a change.  I did make that change.  Here’s the catch: it has made this harder financially on our family.  I feel guilty because the hours really work well for me, physically & emotionally.  I am happy at work now, something I haven’t in a long while.  But like I said, it’s made it harder on my hubby because I don’t make as much as I used to.  So while I love my new position and new hours, I would be selfish to keep doing it if it is making it harder on him.

A favorite quote for today… “Can we play????” Wait, didn’t I say that in my last post?

One of my favorite things… Days off with hubby, cuddling on the couch and just relaxing together

A few plans for the rest of the week:

  • Monday~Work, than housework
  • Tuesday~Work
  • Wednesday~Working, picking Johnny up from Science Olympiad, and getting Johnny to confirmation classes.
  • Thursday~Working, housework, visiting my MIL for her birthday.
  • Friday~Working, than taking the car for inspection.
  • Saturday ~Sleeping in a bit, picking Johnny up from Science Olympiad practice, than stuff around the house.
  • Sunday~Baseball camp for Hubby and oldest, than Church, then relaxing at MIL’s.
