Remember that song by Lionel Richie? How he is depressed about a breakup? Well, this post is definitely not about that. I just liked that phrase as my blog post title. Why, you say? Well, first of all, it is Sunday morning right now. Okay, totally lame, but I thought it was cute. And, as I have mentioned before, I am not a comedian.
The real purpose of this post is to share why Sunday is such a nice time for our family. I could state the obvious that we are all home together. I could say it is because we go to church. I could even say that it is for the great meal that my mother in law makes for us each Sunday.
That would be mostly true, because let’s face it, those are all great reasons to love a Sunday morning. You can even toss in taking a nap as a great reason to be easy like Sunday morning. But that really isn’t the top reason. Guys, you may know where I am headed with this, but for those that aren’t sure, here is the top reason:
~Football!! Yes football. A big guy throwing a little football to another possibly big guy. When said guy catches football, then he gets creamed by a few other big guys. Really, what’s not to like? Okay, I know some of you ladies out there will be like “football is so violent, how can you like that?” or “how do you stand watching them tackle each other?” . Very easy, that’s how. Not because I like the violence(although there are some times I would like to tackle the *#&! out of a few people), but because we spend time together as a family.
I love going grocery shopping on game days and have fans from our team say we look so cute because we are all dressed in Eagles gear. Or how much fun it is to see fans from other teams dislike us just because we beat the stuffin’ out of them. No matter how you tackle it, it is our family time, and we love it!
And, okay, I will admit it. I love the tackling. And the screaming. And the food. And don’t forget winning. Well, the Eagles have yet to win the Superbowl, but we can hope, right?
What do you do as a family on a Sunday morning?
