One of my favorite things about going on vacation is I can read all I want. I don’t feel guilty about picking up a book and just losing myself in it. We always head to Wildwood, NJ for our vacation. At the hotel, we stay in a house, so we have ample room to spread out and relax. The backyard has a table with an umbrella and several lounge chairs. It really makes for a relaxing place to read. three years ago, I used to bring a bag that I had filled with books. They really took up a lot of space in our car, which was already stuffed to the maximum.
Two years ago, I ended up purchasing a Nook 3G from Barnes & Noble(Yes, I work for them, but I am not being compensated by them in any way, shape, or form for mentioning them in this blog post.) It was a great way to save some space. I enjoyed it because if I finished a book and needed another one, I didn’t have to worry about finding a bookstore. The 3G allowed me to buy a book anytime I needed it. Although my husband may not agree, lol. I really loved my Nook, but my husband started using it, so it was getting harder and harder to get to it. This past year, our work offered us a great opportunity to get the new Nook Tablet. Knowing that I could never, ever afford an I-pad, I jumped at the chance to purchase one. I absolutely love it! And I love the fact that I can take ALL my books with me, and they all fit in my purse! The bonus is that I can stay somewhat connected on the internet as well.
So I thought I’d take a moment and show you what I have on my Summer Vacation 2012 bookshelf(can I just say that I love the bookshelves?) I purchased most of them already, and organized them onto this shelf so I would have quick and easy access. I usually purchase about 8 books. We are only gone for 5 days, but I tend to read a whole book in the car on the way down, and the way back. So this is what I purchased:
Summer Friends by Holly Chamberlin
Beach Colors by Shelly Noble
Beach Season by Cathy Lamb
Spring Fever by Mary Kay Andrews
Summer Breeze by Nancy Thayer
Ocean Beach by Wendy Wax
So what is on your bookshelf this summer?
