All my readers know how much I love our family vacation in Wildwood NJ. It is one of the vacations I absolutely adore. This year, we tried a few new places. One of which was the Starlux Mini Golf and I am going to share with you why you should visit Starlux Mini Golf.
Generally we love to lounge around and nap while we are on vacation. But this year, it was a bit more complicated than that. Why you ask? This Momma is getting a bit sentimental that her oldest child will be heading off to college next Fall. I mean, seriously, already?? So I wanted to make sure that we did some new and different things.
The solution to that? Our family took a trip to visit Starlux Mini Golf! Well, walked there, to be more exact. It is conveniently located on the corner of Rio Grande Ave & Ocean Avenue, directly across from the Wildwoods sign.
The Starlux Mini Golf complex is situated next to the Starlux Motel, and is built over the old Rio Motel’s grounds. We have a sentimental attachment to the Rio Motel, so it was very nice to see that something so fun was built in that space.
Why YOU Should Visit Starlux Mini Golf:
The grounds itself are absolutely beautiful, even before you step foot on any of the courses.
You have your choice of 3 different courses, and you can either do 9, 18, or 27 holes. It is reasonably priced, so it makes it the ideal family fun spot.
When we went to visit Starlux Mini Golf, we decided that we were going to start with 18 holes. The hardest part was deciding what courses to do. There is the Boardwalk Course, the Ocean Course, and the Beach Course. We decided to start with the Boardwalk Course.
One of my favorite things to see as soon as we started the course was the fun facts posted on each hole.
Such a fun thing to start with(by the way, I had to Google the answer). Also on the Boardwalk Course were cute touches involving all the places and things you see on the Wildwood Boardwalk.
Watch the tram car please!
Curley’s fries is an iconic part of the Wildwood Boardwalk.
And one of my favorite pictures of us being “cut throat” with our putting. We also had fun putting from youngest to oldest, and I am sad to report I was on the short end of oldest.
And my son being a goof. This is one of the reasons why it was so fun to visit Starlux Mini Golf.
The next course that we chose to do was the Ocean Course. I really loved this one, and the touches on it were really well thought out.
One of the really thought out touches were the nets that were readily available and the fact that the balls floated. I can’t even tell you how many times I ended up in the water(or drink for those up on their golf lingo). But it didn’t matter, we were having such a great time being together as a family.
The ocean themed decorations were great as well, and this fountain was one of my favorites.
Yup, what a nice sight to see as you retrieve your ball from the water, yet again. Let’s just say that on the Ocean Course, I ended up with the maximum number of strokes on a bunch of holes. I definitely won’t live that down.
If you don’t like the water, then you definitely have to try the Beach Course.
While we didn’t golf it this time, I know that it is on our list for next year when we go. If I can’t stay out of the water, I might as well hit the beach!
All fun and kidding aside, I am so glad that we went to visit Starlux Mini Golf. We all had a blast together, and made plenty of family memories. I want to add something else: the staff in the Pro Shop were extremely friendly. One of the employee’s(I am sorry I didn’t catch his name) thanked us for being there. He also took the time to talk to my husband and complimented him on his hat.
Small thing, but it really makes you feel like the staff is happy that you are there. That is one of the other reasons while we will be back next year. And probably will do all 27 holes.
Did golfing all those holes make you hungry? Well you can grab a sweet treat from Kohr’s Brothers, located next to the Pro Shop. YUM!
So there you have it. Another great reason to spend time in Wildwood NJ. If you are anything like us, you will be hooked and come back year after year.
Will you add a visit to Starlux Mini Golf to your Wildwood agenda?
