One of our favorite family trips each year is our trip to Wildwood, NJ. From the minute we leave our current trip, we are already counting down to the next one! And why is that? Well, the place we stay at, of course. For almost 20 years now we have been staying at the Le Voyageur Motel. It is the true epitome of a family-friendly accommodation.
It is almost unheard of that a family stays at the same motel as long as we have. There were only 2 times we weren’t able to because of work schedules, and those places will never compare to the Le Voyageur Motel. So I will start out with our favorite thing: the house.
We loved this house SO much because all 7 of us were able to stay in the same place. 3 bedrooms, a full kitchen(not that we cook when we are on vacation), a nice living room, and a big backyard, it was like a second home to us. But alas, all good things must come to an end. This house was torn down in the Fall of 2018 to make room for a new expansion. While it is sad, we will still continue to come here for as long as we can.
So here is a little about the main Le Voyageur Motel complex. First and foremost, there is a great pool! Fun by day, and beautiful by night(for safety’s sake, there is no night swimming permitted), it is a great place to relax if you love clean pool water.
One thing I need to add is that there is no elevator at the Le Voyageur motel to reach the second and third floors. So if you have motility issues, be sure to request a first floor room. The owner, Tim, does his best to accommodate your requests.
Recently, many of the rooms have been updated with new flooring. I love this because it makes cleaning up from sandy feet a lot easier!
This is the room from the inside of the door.
In the main living area, you will find a queen sized bed and a small table with two chairs. I am sitting in one of those chairs when I took this picture.
Underneath the blanket is my youngest son, he hates having his picture taken. You will also find a great storage area and a full-sized fridge! We always bring iced tea from home, and we can store our leftovers in it.
On the way to the second bathroom you will see the bathroom. Always clean, and adequate for getting ready. The only downside I can possibly think of is there is a pedestal sink, and it can be a bit challenging to get ready in the morning.
The second bedroom in the back has a full-sized bed and a twin bed. So for our family of 4, there is plenty of room to spread out. Here is a view of the main bedroom from the doorway of the second bedroom.
There is also a rooftop patio, as well as a covered balcony outside your door with 2 chairs.
But the best part of staying here, is that it is only a block and a half from the famous Wildwood Boardwalk and the Wildwood Convention Center. It takes about 7 minutes to get there, and that is only when my youngest is putzing.
So there you have it, our highly recommended and loved accommodations in our “second home” in Wildwood. The LeVoyageur Motel has everything you need in a motel, plus so much more!.
