I don’t know about anyone else, but I am sure glad it’s Friday! It’s been a really long week. As some of you know, I ended up getting pretty sick. Not sure it was the full-blown flu, but I was down for the count. The worst part? I was so sick, I didn’t even have coffee for 4 days.
Yep, totally not cool at all. Maybe that was why I was so tired. The upside to being so sick is it gave me some time to think.
One of the things I really need to work on is a healthier lifestyle. Make better choices about what I eat and how I eat.
How am I going to do that?
Starting next Friday, and every Friday after that, I plan on blogging about my journey to a healthier lifestyle. I am thinking about turning it into a linky party so my readers can add links to their favorite healthy posts. So they can share recipes, exercise tips, and motivation.
Beginning Sunday, I want to work on my worst habit: drinking Turkey Hill iced tea. Can you say calorie rich? I drink glasses and glasses and glasses of it a day. If you want to see how bad it is, just read the nutritional label here.
What a waste of precious calories. But man, is the stuff ever good! So one of my super important goals is to drink water instead of my iced tea goodness. But I am not sure if I can break the habit. Any advice for that?
Speaking of better food choices, I need to get smarter about all the carbs I eat. I admit it, I love them dearly. But that doesn’t mean I can’t have them if I am smart about it. Jo-Lynne Shane wrote a great guest post for me last year about incorporating healthy pasta into your menu plan. I need to get back to that habit.
So that is what I am planning to do this year. I know it will be hard work and I will probably fall off the wagon multiple times. But I know it will be worth it in the end.
But for right now, pour me a second cup of coffee. I put a teaspoon of Quik in it for a bit of flavor, and a splash of fat free vanilla creamer. Coffee, I really did miss you!
What are you doing this year to promote a healthier lifestyle?
