October is pumpkin decorating time! There are so many ways to decorate your pumpkin including digging in your junk drawer. This is Barb of A Life In Balance with an easy way to decorate your pumpkin without carving it.
- Junk Drawer filled with odds and ends
- Screws, nuts, washers, and other items from your hardware supply
- Pins and zippers from your sewing stash
Easy Pumpkin Decorating: How to Make Your Junk Pumpkin
Go through your junk drawer and look for metal items. Anything pointed should be at least 1/2 inch in length in order to stay secure in the pumpkin. Do the same with your other supplies. Create a face on a piece of paper with your items and figure out how to secure them to the pumpkin.
For the eyes, I used a light bulb from a string of Christmas lights and 2 different types of washers. I poked a hole in the pumpkin with a thumb tack before pushing in the light bulbs.
I used a screw and clip for a curtain rod for the earring.
To create the mouth, I used pins and a rubber band from a bunch of veggies. Thumb tacks would work just as well.
Thank you Barb, for such a wonderful and easy pumpkin decorating craft! I love that you can find all these items inside your home. After all, none of us have spare parts laying around, right? Right?!?
I am actually extremely notorious for having leftover parts from items that I put together. So I know that this is one craft project I can definitely participate in!
