Happy Sunday readers! I hope that you are doing well. The weather in my part of the world has been absolutely amazing! Warm during the day, cool at night. While I don’t want to see Summer come to an end, I can’t deny that I love the Fall weather. I almost want to start my Fall cleaning. Almost, lol.
I am in the process of decluttering a bookshelf that we have in the dining area. I plan on repurposing it in the garage area to keep my small appliances and pet food on. In place of the bookshelf, I am finally setting up a desk area that will be for my blogging. There is space for my laptop, shelves to hold my camera and photography cords, and my Purple Trail planner. Since I am out on FMLA, I am taking the time to get things in order before I return to work.
Speaking of my FMLA, I am excited to update that my son continues to improve everyday from his surgery. We are adjusting to the new normal. Getting his brace on and off gets easier each time. His incision is healing very nicely, and I am very glad about that. Last night was a new adventure for us. We gave him a really good shower, but the trouble is that he has to shower with the brace on. Definitely a learning experience, one of which is to make sure you have a LOT of towels! The surgeon said he can start resuming some normal activities(with the exception of extreme sports or platform diving), so we are taking him to church today.
The hardest part right now is that he has reached the point in his recovery where he mind wants to do more than the body is ready for. I know it must be extremely frustrating for him, and I do what I can to try to help that. At the same time, I don’t want him to get too dependent, I want him to be able to do as much as he is able. I think he is totally tired of me asking him “are you okay” anytime he moves. Bad Mom habit.
On a nicer note, he is taking an online class during the semester to keep in the loop of things. It is a general education course, which is perfect for an online class. I know it will help keep him in the loop so that he is ready to jump right into Spring semester.
I think I will try to plan a home tailgating party soon to help usher in the new football season. It seems hard to believe we are at that point already. Our family loves the Eagles, so this is definitely a way to cheer on our favorite team.
So that is where my family is right now. I hope things are going well for you! Thanks for stopping in, and see you next time for more entries from Jennifer’s Journal.
