Happy Sunday readers! I hope that you are all well. I have been praying for all of those in the path of Hurricane Irma and for those that Hurricane Jose may affect. It is sad and scary seeing all the destructive powers of nature. It is mind-blowing that Hurricane Irma destroyed an entire island.
As for my end of the world, it is the perfect almost-Fall day. Sunny and breezy and cool. The perfect day for the start of the NFL season. Are you ready for some football?
Speaking of football, before I share this week’s update on how my son is doing, I have to mention one thing:
That’s right, Pitt: 14 Penn State: 33. We are officially the masters of the state of PA! For all my fellow Penn State Parents, alumni, and fans, #WeAre!
Okay, now that I am finished with my sports update, on to some other exciting things. My son continues to improve. We are in a holding pattern right now, until our next appointment with the surgeon. He has been such a good sport about wearing his brace, and being at the mercy of the old people’s(A.K.A. Mom & Dad) bedtime. I can’t think of any other 18-year old man being so cooperative.
The other exciting thing is that today is the one year “Gotcha Day”. You ask, what is “Gotcha Day”? It marks the one year anniversary of our fuzzy furballs joining our family. Here they are at 4 weeks:
This is Fred & George. Yes, before you ask, they are named after the Weasley twins in Harry Potter. I always wanted orange boys, and these guys showed up in our lives, and took over our home and our hearts.
So fast forward to this weekend. Now those cute, little, fuzzy, furballs have matured in great big “lions”.
They take after their namesakes, as they are always getting into mischief. And they are typical “teenagers”, sleep most of the day, and make messes the rest of the time. But we love them so much, so we overlook it.
Other than that, this is what has been happening on the blog:
I shared about the resort we stayed at for our 20th wedding anniversary:
And I shared how you can create this simple Fall-themed gift basket:
And because I am missing my job just a tad, I shared the 9 Adorable Books to Spark your Baby’s Genius:
So that’s what has been going on in my life. I am continuing to pray for everyone involved in the hurricanes paths. Stay safe and be smart.
What is going on in your end of the world?
