Happy Sunday readers!
It’s a rainy(but muggy)day in my end of PA. I have to look at the calendar to make sure it is October, and not August! I know I said I love Summer, but I am really ready for Fall. It is a great time to give your air condition a rest, and to prepare you home for the Winter months.
The boys are at Sunday School this morning. Oldest is enjoying his time as an assistant Sunday School teacher. It is a great way for him to keep himself busy until he heads back to college in the Spring. I know he misses it a lot, and can’t wait to go back. It’s been hard for this Mom, trying to balance things. Yes he is an adult, and yes he is living under our roof. Anyone have any advice? Pretty soon he is going to rename me “Nagmaster”.
Speaking of college, we are all excited to be heading back to State College at the end of the week. We have some administrative things to take care of and some housing decisions to make. We were pleasantly surprised that the surgeon said it is okay for him to make the 3 hour trip. I can’t wait to see the Shrine again:
So we said to him that as long as he shows up at the sessions he needs to be at, he is free to do what he wants with his friends. I know he really needs it. And I know Dad and I will enjoy walking around downtown. I can’t wait to grab a fuzzy blanket from the one store so that I am ready for Winter. The boys each have one, and I have to stop myself from borrowing them permanently.
Did I happen to mention that I am excited to head back to State College? Oh, I did? Yeah, I can’t contain my enthusiasm. Probably because I can get my ice cream fix from the Berkey Creamery. Keeping my fingers crossed that they are going to have pumpkin ice cream.
Other than that, I am a book tour host today for Josh Shipp’s “The Grown-Up’s Guide To Teenage Humans“. It is a fun read that is spot on about the special talent it takes to raise a teenage human. If you get a chance to read it, you should. It even has some great insights on our kids that have started or will be going to college.
So that’s my update for this week. Now I am off to make my packing lists for our trip this coming weekend. #WeAre.
Have a wonderful week!
