Happy last Sunday in October! In my end of the world, it is gloomy & rainy. It sure makes it hard to get out of bed. Unfortunately, the two masters of destruction thought otherwise. They decided that it would be a great idea during the night to open all the kitchen cabinet doors and pull stuff out.
Oh vey. Love my boys, but when they do things like this………sometimes it’s hard, lol. At least I know we will safe from Brillo pad monsters. The poor thing did not stand a chance.
In any case, I can no longer escape reality. Tomorrow, after 12 weeks being home with my son, I head back to work. I have to freely admit, I never thought I would like the whole stay-at-home parent gig. I have worked outside the house in one way or another since I was 17. But being home with him made me re-think a few things.
Maybe I will have answers, maybe I won’t. I just know that I need to get back into the routine(with double the laundry again.) All I know for now is, I need to shut up, stop whining, pull up those big girl panties, and do what needs to be done for our family. And I am sure once I get back into the routine, it will be ok.
Speaking of my son, here’s an update on him. Earlier this month, we traveled back up to State College for Parents Weekend so we could attend the housing information session.
He handled the ride with ease, despite wearing his hard brace. You could tell he was happy to be back, and enjoyed hanging out with friends. And, of course, a trip to our favorite place:
The session was completely helpful, and worth the weekend drive. I also got a few more shirts, which is always a good thing. Now that November is upon us, I need to start going through his stuff to see what he wants to take back up with him in January.
He goes back to the surgeon the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, and a decision will be made about his getting it off. Let’s hope and pray it will be good news!
So that’s the latest update for us. I hope everyone is doing well. And if you think of it, keep me in your thoughts tomorrow. I may need them!
