Happy September! It’s so hard to believe that it is almost Fall. This Mom is still kind of in the Spring & Summer mode. But the nights are gradually getting shorter and cooler. Makes me wish we were back in Jamaica. Earlier in May, my husband and I celebrated 20 years by heading back to Jamaica. We spent our first honeymoon there, and always said we’d go back. So today I would like to share about our stay at the Kensington Cove Building at Sandals Royal Caribbean.
One of my favorite things about the Sandals Royal Caribbean is the beauty of the grounds. While it is not a huge resort, everything is laid out very well. And the Kensington Cove building at Sandals Royal Caribbean is the farthest block of rooms. If you don’t like a light stroll, you may not like this particular building.
However, the upside of the long walk is the quiet of the Kensington Cove building at Sandals Royal Caribbean.
In the 20 years since we have been there, they made a few changes to the resort. But one thing I have to mention that didn’t change: the hospitality of the staff. The housekeepers, bartenders, and restaurant servers, each and every one of them made our stay wonderful.
So now I am going to go into more detail about this end of property.
Exploring the Kensington Cove Building at Sandals Royal Caribbean:
When we made our reservations the first time, we had concierge service. Now it is called Club Sandals, and it is worth every penny. Once we were checked into the resort, a member of the Club Sandals team escorted us to the Kensington Cove building at Sandals Royal Caribbean. One of the first things that greets you is the building name plaque.
Welcome to your home away from home. All the rooms in this block face the ocean, so you need to walk along the backside to get to your room door. It is nice because the walkway is covered, and has some great views to go with it. We asked for the 3rd floor just for the views.
Upon arriving at our door, the Club Sandals escort verified that we received our luggage, and gave us a brief rundown of the services provided. Once you are inside your door, you will immediately see the bathroom. There is a closet with a safe and an iron & ironing board. We had plenty of hangers available as well. Some reviews on TripAdvisor complain of the bathroom size, but my husband and I felt the bathroom was more than adequate.
And our housekeeper kept it spotless, so that mattered more than anything! If I needed something, she was always quick to provide it.
Once you walk past the bathroom, you are greeted by a huge 4 poster bed. Normally I don’t sleep well away from home, but I found the bed to be extremely comfortable.
The flowers and towel art that was done each day was sweet, and a nice touch. The nightstand had an I-Home/alarm clock combination. There was also a desk that had several plugs for your electronics.
If you turn around, you will see the dresser/TV stand and the fully stocked wet bar. The only thing I would have to mention is that they need more drawer space. Especially if you are staying longer and have a lot of clothing, you would need to keep stuff in your suitcase.
There is also a nice sitting area. We enjoyed a breakfast there the day after our vow renewal. Again, other travelers complained about the size, but we had no issues with it.
And then, of course is the balcony area. I have to agree that the size was smaller than expected. However, it more than met our needs for our trip. After all, we spent more time on the resort grounds than the balcony.
And the views from that balcony weren’t too shabby, either.
One of the other things that made the Kensington Cove building at Sandals Royal Caribbean so special and unique is that it had its own pool area. If you are on the older side like us, the quiet of the pool here is most welcomed.
So there you have a quick and easy tour of the Kensington Cove building at Sandals Royal Caribbean. So if you are headed to Jamaica, be sure to consider staying here. You won’t regret it. And you can start your vacation like a rock star by taking advantage of the Club Mobay arrival lounge.
Paradise is waiting for you!
