Right now, it is single-digit cold in my part of the world. Most people would be warming up with hot coffee and hot chocolate, soup & stews, and more. As for me, I want to fast forward to Spring right now, so I have declared it officially Spring Break with M&M’s® Crispy Ice Cream Eggs.
I know that most of you don’t equate ice cream with staying warm. For me, it is all about the mental image. It may be cold outside with 8 inches of snow on the ground, but I am warm and toasty inside pretending that it is warm enough to be enjoying ice cream. Silly, I know, but it is my way of coping with all this cold weather. I am an outside girl who loves sunshine, so if I can create my own, I am all for it.
But before I go any further, I want to make this announcement: M&M’s® Crispy are back! Yes, you heard right, they are back! I was so excited to walk into Walmart and find my favorite treats right in the candy aisle. I love that you can get them in the BIG bag or in individual snack bags. With just 180 calories per serving, you can have it all.
I love sharing this recipe for M&M’s® Crispy Ice Cream Eggs because it is such a simple and fun recipe. You need only a few ingredients, a little bit of time, and you have can your little piece of Spring anytime you need it.
I had this silicone egg-shaped baking pan for several years. These are perfect for ice cream because you can pop your treat right out of the mold with no effort. Clean-up is a snap, too. And the results are so tasty, too!
M&M’s® Crispy Ice Cream Eggs:
- You need 2 of your favorite ice cream flavors. For me that is vanilla and chocolate. Allow them to set on the counter a few moments so they are soft enough to use. Take your first flavor and scoop it into the bottom of the mold.
- Smoosh up a few M&M’s® Crispy snacks so you can make a crunchy layer between the ice cream flavors. Be sure to snack on a bunch of them at the same time. Place them on top of the first layer of ice cream as you help yourself to a bit more.
- Top the crunchy layer with your second flavor. Spread evenly if you can, then place in the freezer for an hour to harden. Cover with whipped cream and more M&M’s® Crispy snacks. Serve when ready!
So simple, and so delicious! You can make a bunch at a time, then wrap them individually to enjoy at a later time. The combinations are endless, and with M&M’s® Crispy as the centerpiece, you can’t go wrong!
