I can’t believe that the Thanksgiving holiday is just a few weeks away. Where did the year go? And sometimes it’s hard to believe that it is just about November because there are still some warm days. But now is a great time to start planning your holiday celebration. Today I am sharing how you can make a festive Thanksgiving table centerpiece.
This post is being brought to you by The Oriental Trading Company. While I received product in order to facilitate this post, all opinions are 100% my own. Please read my disclosure policy for more information.
For many people, Thanksgiving can be a very hectic time of year. We are often under the pressure to have the perfect holiday, and it just makes a wonderful time time extra stressful. I admit, I generally am not big on making things magazine worthy when it comes to my table. We just want to eat all the delicious food. A Thanksgiving table centerpiece has never been on my radar.
But this year I was looking at the Oriental Trading Company’s Thanksgiving website. I couldn’t believe what cute stuff they had. I decided, why not? I was able to find everything I wanted to create my Thanksgiving table centerpiece.
I am writing this post with FULL disclosure: I have no crafting skills at all. I have no eye for design. But I have to tell you, I was very pleased with the finished product. Want to see?
So now I will talk about how I made it. I made it with the idea that we would be having a buffet style set-up for our holiday meal. This Thanksgiving table centerpiece is the perfect decoration to anchor your table.
What You Need To Make A Festive Thanksgiving Table Centerpiece:
I started it with this 3-tiered serving platter. This was the perfect item since it had different levels.(Unfortunately this item is now discontinued, so you may want to try this. Because Thanksgiving is also about football!)
BONUS TIP: I originally planned on displaying appetizers on it, but found it to be perfect for decorations. If you choose to, serve food on it. I love products that have a dual purpose.
I loved this Sweet Fall Pumpkin centerpiece because of the sentiments on it. I especially loved the “Family” one.
I saw these resin “Give Thanks” blocks and was TOTALLY hooked. So cute because they can be used for the entire Fall season.
And you can’t have Thanksgiving without a turkey, right? So this plush turkey was a fun touch to add to the Thanksgiving table centerpiece.
And finally:
Lighted Fall leaves string garland. You can choose to turn the lights on if you have a late afternoon dinner. We eat really early, so I am just using it for color.
How To Assemble Your Thanksgiving Table Centerpiece:
- Start with your serving set.
- Add the white pumpkins on either side.
- Add your “thanks” blocks on the top shelf. And arrange Thom Turkey by one of your pumpkins.
- Add the Autumn garland around the bottom.
And there you go!
Oh wait, the perfectionist in me wasn’t quite happy with it. So I decided to make a few changes.
First, I didn’t think you could see the resin figures that well, so I moved them to the front.
And poor Thom Turkey looked so lonely on the side, so I moved him on top.
I still thought he looked lonely, so I gave him a pumpkin friend.
Okay, now we are getting somewhere. But not quite yet. I was afraid he would fall off, so I decided to do a little more maneuvering.
See, the finished product! A beautiful Thanksgiving table centerpiece with plenty of room for all your delicious dishes!
So with just a few minutes, and one-stop shopping from The Oriental Trading Company, you can find the perfect decorations for your holiday table.
Because after all, Thanksgiving is about family and thanks.
Or is it turkey and family?
Whatever is important to you, just be thankful that you are all together. And remember to pray for those we have lost, our military personnel who can’t be home for the holiday, and for all the retail workers that probably have to go into work that night.
You make it look so easy. What cute ideas. I love the white pumpkins.
