It’s Sunday. A wonderful day to rest. Umm, not really. There is a lot I have to do. Menu planning is at the top. Not sure how that is going to go since I have to play Mom’s taxi service 3 days this week. Do you know how hard it is to menu plan when your hubby gets home at different times and your kids have to be somewhere too? Aaahhh. Makes me want to scream. But I can’t, because I have work to do. And then, once I get the menu plan done, I have to write the list, and go do the grocery shopping. I think I may like that even less than menu planning.
Next on that list? Folding and putting away all the clean laundry. Then I have I have to start it all over again. I know that I have
whined blogged about my love of laundry on numerous occasions. And once I have all that laundry done again, I really need to get started on that dreaded task of switching over the summer clothing to winter wardrobes. Really not at the top of the list of things to do. Oh wait a minute, yes it is.
If I can get that done, I really need to get the sheets washed, and blankets organized for the cooler weather. I absolutely refuse to turn on the heat until it is absolutely necessary this winter. One, because our electric bill is high enough and they want to make it even higher. And two? Just look back at item #1. Our electric bill is finally getting to be more reasonable because we don’t need the air conditioning on all the time. I am not going to undo all that good by turning on the heat the second it starts getting colder. We can cover up with a blanket or toss on a sweatshirt. Or just cuddle together on the sofa. That heat does not have to go on until it hits under 40 degrees for several days in a row. Even then, we can always toss on another blanket.
Okay, once the menu planning, laundry switching, and bed preparing is done, I think I need to iron. Yay ironing!!!! Okay, the several exclamation points does not make me want to iron, nor does it make it anymore appealing. Hey, I have no trouble going to work in wrinkled clothes. I am so busy moving around that I don’t think anyone would notice. Okay, that rationalization doesn’t work for me either. So iron, I will.
But you, back to my original point. It is Sunday, and it is a day off with my family. I am going to enjoy it because that is what Sundays are for. I am having my postponed birthday dinner, and a chocolate cake for dessert. After all, chocolate cake makes anything better.
So what is on your agenda for this week? What tips do you have to make it easier?
