As much as I try to deny it, the holiday season is rapidly approaching. I will admit, I am a procrastinator when it comes to my holiday planning. But, this year, I am trying to get a step up on this. Next week is our church’s basket social. Earlier in the week, I shared this simple Fall-themed gift basket that I am donating to the church. This week I am sharing how to create a winter holiday themed basket. Great for gifting a party hostess during the holiday season.
I will be the first to admit that I am NOT the world’s craftiest person. But I have to admit, this basket can be made in under 10 minutes when you have all the materials ready to go. And what is really neat is that there are so many ways you can customize your basket, depending on what mood you are in.
This post is being brought to you by The Oriental Trading Company. While I received product in order to facilitate this post, all opinions are 100% my own. Please read my disclosure policy for more information.
One of my favorite winter holiday themed basket ideas include anything snowman! It is versatile, and you can customize it to your home decor. There are red & green ones, sparkly ones, even ice blue & white ones. Whichever you prefer, that is where you start.
How To Create A Winter Holiday Themed Basket:
So the first thing you will need to create a Winter holiday themed basket is a basket to put your items in. I chose a white basket to keep with the snowman theme. But you can really use anything that matches your snowman theme. The Oriental Trading company has a large selection of holiday themed items.
What you will need to create a Winter holiday themed basket:
First I started with a lighted Christmas barn star that matched my color scheme. It is battery operated, so it is perfect for any household.
Next, you will add this snowman throw blanket. I love that the Oriental Trading Company had one available.
Sing for Joy Snowman is also needed for this winter holiday themed basket. This is very appropriate for our church basket social because of the Psalm that is located on him.
Lastly you will need this Nativity Chalkboard Countdown. Again, pretty and appropriate for our church basket. If that isn’t your style, there are other options available at The Oriental Trading Company.
How to create a Winter holiday themed basket:
First, roll the blanket up and place it in the basket. Make sure you roll it so his cute face can be seen.
Next, add in Softy the Snowman.
Gently position in the lighted star and Sing for Joy figurine.
Add in the Nativity Countdown Chalkboard.
The last thing you need to do is cover the basket with a clear plastic bag that is made for craft baskets. And that’s it, you are done! In under 10 minutes, you have this adorable Winter holiday themed basket.
I can’t wait to bring this to our church basket social next week. I just need to fight the impulse to put tickets in the can so I can win my own basket! It is cute, but I think I will pass on putting tickets in the can so someone else can be blessed with it.
